Writer Profile
About
Educator, Writer, Disability Justice Advocate
I am an experienced educator and writer deeply committed to Disability Justice. I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Illinois State University with a Bachelor’s in Human Development and Family Resources where I collaborated on published work related to stereotype threat and chronic illness. Currently, I am obtaining my Masters In Curriculum and Instruction with a dual emphasis in Social Justice and Special Education from Central Michigan University. In my career, I have gained extensive experience in Early Childhood Education, both as a teacher and Education Specialist, with a focus on inclusion within programs partnering with underserved families. Bringing my own unique lens as a Disabled, Autistic, Lesbian, I aim to use the power of words and education to center marginalized voices and create a more equitable world. My motherhood journey with my two amazing elementary-aged kiddos includes sensory differences and speech and language pathology services. Neurodivergence and Disability touch every area of my life, fueling my conviction that societal change must be systemic.
